Sandra Lee Crean (Sandy), born June 3, 1942, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the age of 74. She is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, James Thomas Crean (Jim). She was the much loved grandma to 12 grandchildren (Amber, Chance, Alex, Sonny, Jackson, Jared, Julia, AJ, Dustin, Adam, Christopher, and Noah) and great-grandma of 2 (James Dean and Aubrey). After moving from Hixson, TN in 1978, Sandy and Jim lived in Marshalltown, Iowa, and then, Winona, Minnesota, before settling in Rockton, Illinois, where she worked for the local school district as a Teacher’s Aide until her retirement. 3 years ago Sandy and Jim moved to Sun Village in Surprise, AZ. Sandy loved her role as “Queen” of her family and purple was her signature color. She was known for being a former mermaid, continuously adding to her extensive owl figurine collection, was an excellent cook, and an avid fan of “Dancing with the Stars”. Sandy enjoyed her retirement life in Arizona by spending time with her Sun Village neighborhood friends. The family asks that memorial donations be made to Catholic Charities in Sandy’s name.
