Sarah Miller

Sarah Demick Miller, 44, of Desert Hills, AZ, formerly of Martinsburg, WV, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Tony Miller, their son, Taylor Miller, and Tony's other children Brittany Mosley, Tarah Miller, and Tanner Miller, her parents, Charles and Karen (Kruschke) Demick, her brothers Stephen (Jennifer) and Joel Demick and their children. In addition, she is survived by her aunt Elizabeth (James) Hermanson, uncle Floyd Kruschke, Jr., and four cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Lynn Demick, her paternal grandparents Robert and Bernadetta (Russell) Demick, and her maternal grandparents Floyd and Annette (Monin) Kruschke. Sarah was devoted to her family and gave loving care to them. When her sister, Tricia, was at the end of her life due to cancer, Sarah took a leave of absence from her job, packed up her then three-year-old son, drove nearly 1000 miles, and moved in with Tricia to be on hand to help care for her until she passed away. Sarah loved to be with friends and enjoy activities together, especially her two closest friends Susan (Hoop) Engle and Shelly (Files) Poland. Sarah was very caring toward others, always trying to make the lives of others happy, always giving of herself to the needs of others. Sarah graduated from Martinsburg High School with the Class of 1989, and was a member of the Concert and Marching Band as well as the Jazz Ensemble for all four years of high school. She attended Shepherd University and worked for various businesses in Martinsburg before meeting and marrying her husband, Tony. They moved to Arizona upon Tony's retirement from the Air Force. Sarah ultimately found the most satisfying career ever for herself in Member Services for USAA, which gave her the opportunity to help members of the military with their insurance needs. A memorial service for Sarah will be held at a date yet to be scheduled.
