Timothy Isely Obituary

Dr. Timothy F. Isely Timothy F. Isely, of Peoria, Arizona was unexpectedly born to eternal life on October 1, 2017 due to heart issues. Tim was born April 7, 1955 in Fond du Lac Wisconsin, the son of Magdalene and John Isely. He was a 1973 graduate of DeSales Preparatory Seminary and earned undergraduate and Master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Dr. Isely received his PhD in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on December 16, 1990. At Tim's graduation his Aunt said to him, "Too bad you're not a real Doctor." Tim always remembered her saying that and joked that someday he would put that quote on his grave stone. Tim ran his own research company for many years, worked in senior level positions at Millward Brown/Kantar Group/Research International. He was also Vice President of global operations for Frost & Sullivan Consulting Company and traveled internationally on various assignments throughout Europe and Asia. In recent years he worked as an independent market research consultant across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Tim prided himself on being an Eagle Scout. He was also a proficient pilot and an avid Ham Radio operator. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, backpacking, traveling, touring deserts and mountains across the States in his beloved Jeep Wrangler and was always up for an adventure. Amongst his friends and colleagues he was known for his humor, camaraderie, intelligence, mentorship and sheer endless depth of knowledge. The well-being of others and social equality in our modern society were at the forefront of his thoughts and often formed the basis for his many discussions and research papers over the span of his career. For his final journey and adventure, he and his wife took a month long camping trip from Wisconsin to Arizona. They experienced amazing landmarks and National Parks along the way. Tim insisted that they would be at the Line of Totality to witness the Solar Eclipse near the Grand Tetons National Park. That was the highlight of the trip, he even planned to experience the next eclipse seven years down the road. Tim was a good man, a loving husband and a loving father, his number one priority was his children. He always made sure they had a place to call home and instilled in them the importance of education. He is survived by his wife Kristine and their children William and Samantha, siblings John (Mary Jo), Dennis (Sandy), Mary, Ann (Sean), Peter (Patricia), Paul (Yuriko), and sister-in-law Julie. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Alice, Brother-In-Law David and sister-in-laws Diane (Bob) and Karen (Tom) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, John Isely and Magdalene Szmurlo, his step father Charles Szmurlo, Jr, brother Michael Isely, father-in-law Donald Roessler and brother-in-law Kenneth Roessler. A private family service took place in Arizona and the burial will take place at a later date in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses are greatly appreciated.
