Georgetta June Gordon Obituary

Georgetta June Grammer Gordon (1949-2020) On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, Georgetta Gordon, loving wife and mother passed away after a long span of illnesses from the last several years. Georgetta was born on October 13, 1949 in Fallbrook, CA to Perry Ivan Grammer and Rosella June Grammer. She was the oldest of three. She had one brother, Gary Ivan Grammer, and one sister, Renee June Grammer. Georgetta grew up in her early years in Beaverton, Oregon and her later years in Chowchilla, CA where she spent fun-filled days with her cousins, Donna Ricker, and Don Grammer. She moved with her family to Oracle, AZ in 1965. She later moved to Tucson in 1967 where she met David Philip Gordon, her husband of 52 years. They met while working at the first Lucky Wishbone in Tucson on Old Nogales Highway. David was a cook and Georgetta worked the front counter. Both knew it was love at first sight. David joined the Navy in 1968 and they were later married in Las Vegas, NV on December 21, 1968. David left a few days after their wedding to report to his ship, the Hancock, for his first of many 9-month cruises in the Navy. While David was on his last 9-month cruise, they welcomed their first daughter, Kristine Gordon in March 1971. They later welcomed their second daughter, Jennifer Gordon, in June 1973. Later in life David and Georgetta were overjoyed with having their first grandchild, Philip Scott Gordon, on April 9, 2014. Georgetta was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma to her husband, two children, and her grandson for almost 50 years. She was David’s loving wife and partner for 52 years of marriage. They were a fun, close family that continuously had family and friends that surrounded them. Georgetta loved to take care of her family as well as bowl, ceramics, cook, and in later years you could find her planning the next Bunco party with her friends. She had a such a contagious laugh that would make any one smile. She was very out-going and out-spoken, and tried to be involved in her kids’ school activities whenever possible. She was always leading the next party or meeting. Georgetta was preceded in death by her father, Perry Ivan Grammer; her mother, Rosella June Grammer; her brother, Gary Ivan Grammer; and her sister, Renee June Grammer. She is survived by her husband, David Philip Gordon; her daughters, Kristine Gordon and Jennifer Gordon; and her grandson, Philip Scott Gordon. In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild, friend, or take a walk in the sun for a moment, an hour, or a day. Time waits for no one.
