Private Visitation and Funeral Services by invitation only due to COVID restrictions are scheduled for Gloria J. King, who was 76 years old, Friday, March 5, 2021 at Abbey Funeral Chapel, 3435 N. 1st Avenue, Tucson, Arizona 85719, The Burial Services will be held at Holy Hope Cemetery & Mausoleum, 3555 N. Oracle Road, Tucson, Arizona 85705, at 2:00 pm. Services at Holy Hope are public. Gloria was born in Ganado, Arizona on August 22, 1944 to Howard and Hilda Smith. She was born into the Red House clan and born for the Mexican clan. Her maternal grandfather was Bitter Water clan, and her paternal grandfather was Honey Comb clan. Gloria graduated from Ganado Mission in Ganado, Arizona and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from University of Arizona in 1967. She is survived by her daughter, Adrienne King of Sacramento, California, and many other relatives including her sister, Shirley Stoner of Flagstaff, Arizona and brother, Terry Smith of Portland, Oregon. She is preceded in death by her husband, James King, her son David King, her father Howard Smith, her mother Hilda Smith, and her sister Genevieve Smith. Gloria was a loyal University of Arizona alumni and was an avid Wildcat fan who did not miss any of Arizona’s games being televised. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, and spending time with her dogs. She was a loving mother, sister, friend and relative, opening her home to family members whenever they were in town. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and cared deeply for her!
