Sharon K Karn TUCSON, Arizona Obituary

Sharon K Karn

In loving memory of our mother Sharon K. Karn. Born February 17th, 1936 in Connersville, IN. Passed away on December 22nd, 2020 in Tucson, Az. Sharon is survived by her four adoring children: Timothy E Brown, Pamela L. Crawford (Earl) , Andrea Jill Martin (Tom) and Kimberly J Lo Greco (Rob); her devoted grandchildren: John Martin, Emily Wall (Joseph), Ashton Martin, Savanna Martin, Dante Lo Greco and Thomas Lo Greco (Shoshanah); her great grandchild Abigail Lo Greco; her beloved sister Rose York and sister in law Donna Koohns, as well as many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her eldest son Thomas Frank Brown, her brothers Bill Koohns and Clete Koohns and her sister Joretta Walker (Raymond). Sharon will always be remembered for her sharp wit and easy laughter! She played minor league softball and was a competitive bowler in her youth! She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Catalina where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and participated in sharing her faith through visitation. She loved music, puzzles, playing bingo with her son, getting her hair done weekly by longtime family friend Liz Rivera, going for drives, rock hunting, spending time with family and looking at the beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains. She worked at the now historic Lariat Lounge in Catalina for many years and maintains a friendship with the previous owners: Kim and Bonnie Sather. Her last years of work were as the playground monitor and crossguard for Coronado Elementary school. She was often recognized around town by one of her "kids" who would shout "Miss Sharon!" and run to hug her! Her final days were peaceful at home with her children. Her last night with us, she asked to read the scripture that says: "Let not your heart be troubled...[for] I go to prepare a place for you....that where I am, there you may be also". It is in John 14. At the time, we thought she wanted to read it to ease her mind but, now we feel like she meant it for us. So we would know that she is in heaven, and that we should not be troubled because we will see her again! Thank you for that last gift momma! We love you and miss you! In lieu of flowers, any gifts or donations should be made to the Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter in her name. A link has been made for you at the bottom of this page. Due to many circumstances (covid included), services will be held at a future date which is to be determined. Please add a memory and any photos you have to share as a memorial for all to see and share! Thank you all for your love and support!
