Albert Inkster

Albert Charles Inkster Passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at home. He was born March 19, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His father died two months later. Al graduated from Feitshans High School in Springfield, Illinois in 1951. He has a B.S. in Education and a M.S. in Education from Illinois State University, majoring in English and Journalism. While at ISU, he was editor of the Vidette, the college newspaper. He later received an M.A. in English at the University of Arizona. His teaching career included work at Downs High School in Downs, Illinois; Bloom Township High School and Community College in Chicago Heights, Illinois and the Laboratory School for ISU in Normal, Illinois. His last work was at the Catalina High School library in Tucson. His great loves were Old-Time Radio, live theater, movies and books. He served as editor of the quarterly journal of the North American Radio Archives for several years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenna Hill; his brother, Jerry Wike and three cats, Honey, Sam and Tuxedo. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Norma and his cat, Frankie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, the School of Theater, Film and Television at the U. of A., or the Rogue Theater.
