QUARTO, Alfred Basil Passed away peacefully May 21, 2016 in Tucson, AZ surrounded by family and friends. He was born March 5, 1929 in Norwich, CT to Palmina (Aldi) and Basil Quarto and is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joyce (Brown) Quarto; son, Tim (Val) Quarto and stepson, John (Tess) Papendick; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, his sister, Anna (Louis) Torchia; brother, Robert Quarto; sister-in-law, Josephine Quarto and numerous nieces and nephews. Al served his country in the US Air Force. In a career spanning almost 26 years, he served overseas in the UK, North Africa, and throughout the USA. While stationed at DMAFB, he served in a missile crew. He retired as a MSGT in November 1974. For many years, Al enjoyed traveling around the world with his beloved wife, Joyce; China, New Zealand, Kenya, Europe, South America and the Caribbean are only the short list of travels and cruises enjoyed. A Memorial celebrating his life with full military honors will occur on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the family home: 11750 Camino del Desierto.
