Allen F. Carstens Obituary

Allen F. Carstens 90, born June 17, 1925 in Peotone, IL passed December 8, 2015. Allen was a successful businessman for over 40 years, who helped grow the Tucson community through Carstens Electrical Service, Inc. He was instrumental in the development of the local Electrical Apprenticeship Program. Everyone described him as, "the kindest man they have ever been associated with." A caring loving husband, father and grandfather, he was the oldest son of Fredrick and Rosa Carstens. Allen graduated from Peotone High School and Coyne Electrical College. He is survived by his dearly loved wife, Lois; sons, Jeff (Lori), Steve (Renee) and a daughter, Judy (Matt); grandchildren, Mackenzie, Justin and Kyle; his brother, Lyle (Bonnie) of Normal, IL. Allen is reunited in heaven with his grandson, John "JJ". In June of 1947 he married Lois Jean Payne in Peotone, IL. They moved to Tucson in 1948 seeking a dry, warmer climate. He lived his life devoted to family, church and friends. He enjoyed UofA sports, tailgating and traveling in the motor home cross country to visit family and friends. Allen was "ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS", a kind man with great integrity. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 2450 East Fort Lowell Rd. Memorial gifts in Allen Carstens' memory can be made to Tucson Electrical JATC or Northminster Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
