Alvin Crobbe Obituary

Alvin Edward Crobbe Was born on November 30, 1923 in Cortland, IL. He died on September 2, 2011 at the VA Hospice in Tucson after a courageous battle with Congestive Heart Failure and cancer at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Edward Crobbe; brother, Harold "Slim" Crobbe and niece, Cindy Crobbe. In WWII Alvin was a point man for the Army's 88th Blue Devil 351st Infantry Regiment in Italy and North Africa and participated in battles at Po Valley, Rome Arno. Alvin moved his family to Tucson in 1960 and worked as an electrician until his retirement. Alvin enjoyed camping with the Saguaro Trailblazers, playing pinochle, fishing and panning for gold. His humor and vivacious spirit was enjoyed by a wonderful circle of friends. He was cherished and survived by Norma the love of his life for 65 years; sons, David (Lynn) and Danny (Val); grandchildren, Christopher (Alice) Crobbe, Jennifer (Robert) Hansen, Sarah (Dale) Kightlinger, Melissa Crobbe; nephew, Roland (Joyce) Crobbe and the joys of his life great-grandchildren, Branden, Paige, Brady, Mason and Chloe. A Celebration of Alvin's life will be held at Saguaro Christian Church, 8302 E. Broadway on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be offered to Saguaro Christian Church Memorial Garden and the VA Hospital Volunteer Association. We would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and staff at the VA Hospice Unit for the exceptional care they provided to Alvin and our family. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.
