Ardyce Lange

Ardyce Beatrice Lange Born July 27, 1929 in the upstairs bedroom of her childhood home; at age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on a beautiful fall afternoon November 13, 2012. She was born in a suburb of Detroit, MI - Flat Rock - to Percy and Gertrude Collar and was the youngest of four children. She was married for almost 58 years to Elton Lange who brought spice to her life and who predeceased her in 2010. They were married in March, 1952 when Elton was on leave from the Air Force. He was stationed at Luke AFB outside of Phoenix where they lived after their wedding. When Elton was discharged, they returned to Michigan where their children were born. The family moved to Tucson in 1963. Ardyce was a homemaker, worked for TUSD from 1969 to 1971 and then as an administrative assistant to the director of the school of music at the U of A from 1979 to retirement in 1988. Ardyce's Christian faith, her love of her family and her love of music permeated her life. She was an active member of Catalina United Methodist Church for almost 50 years. Ardyce was a loving mom/grammy/great-grammy to her children, Laura (Brandy) Kadous, Grant Lange and Kevin (Kris) Lange; her grandchildren, Heidi and Mark Trump, Scott Kadous, Brock and Cat Lange, Kagran Lange, Kyle Lange and Kelsey Lange and her three great-grandchildren, Caius and David Lange and Kadence Lange. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to those at Peppi's House and Arizona Homestead who were so caring to Ardyce and the family during the last three weeks of her life. A Celebration of her life will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 East Speedway, Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catalina United Methodist Church Foundation.
