Asa Gogolin Obituary

GOGOLIN, Asa (Ace), child of God, born July 15, 1928 in Adrian, MI, the oldest child of Charles and Martha Gogolin, passed peacefully on November 7, 2012 surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack and beloved wife of 63 years, Melva. Ace spent his youth in MI. where he enjoyed the outdoors and playing High School sports. He enlisted in the Navy near the end of World War II and shortly after married the love of his life Melva. His Navy career spanned 25 years and included numerous tours, their favorite being Japan. During that time they raised their five children. He retired as a CPO. Ace and Melva relocated to Tucson in 1976 where he began a career in Real Estate, and served in various ministries at the local Presbyterian church. Ace was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, a true gentlemen. He is dearly loved and greatly missed. Ace is survived by his sister, Georgianna Covell; children, Randy (Judy), Pam (Mike), Kim (Debbie), Carol (Denny) and Tracey (Jeff); ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Please join us in celebrating his life at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Tortolita Presbyterian Church, 10710 N. Thornydale Rd., Rev. David Fife officiating. Donations may be made to Wounded Warriors, or Tortolita Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden Fund. The family would like to thank Casa de la Luz Hospice for their compassionate service.
