Barbara Schlosser

Barbara Jean (Gordon) Schlosser age 87, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 in Tucson, AZ. Barb was born March 15, 1924 in Whitewright, TX, to Janice and Horace Gordon. She grew up both there and Chickasha, OK, and attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, TX. She married Ray Schlosser on October 2, l942. After WWII, they settled in Minneapolis, MN where they lived for more than four decades and raised their three daughters. Retirement would bring them to Rogers, AR. She loved the community. Days were filled with volunteer work at the church and hospital, girlfriends and bridge. Final years in Tucson were full of family and love. Barb was Accepting, Satisfied and Grateful...and most of all loved babies. She would want to give thanks and love to many, but especially her bridge-playing friends-- along with the caring staff at The Gardens. Barb was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, and survived by her daughters, Linda (John) Noble of Wayzata, MN, Nancy (Eric) Brown of Tucson, AZ and Teresa (Jay) Jones-Holmes of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Melissa Richie of Boynton Beach, FL, Michael and Matthew (Amanda) Brown of Tucson, AZ; three great- grandchildren; and honorary sons, Michael Welch and Jack Brunton of Tucson, AZ. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Tucson, AZ. Burial will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, MN on July 5. 2011. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association . Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel.
