HART, Carl Elwood, born November 24, 1934 in Greeley, CO went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday January 28, 2012. Carl was born to Henry and Dorthy (Straight) Hart in Greeley CO. He was raised by his aunt and uncle after his mother died while he was still an infant. Carl served in the Army Signal Corp in the early 1950's obtaining the rank of First Lieutenant being Honorably discharged on June 15, 1965. After leaving the service, he worked several jobs in the trucking industry and owned a diesel repair shop in Colorado. In 1983 Carl moved to Tucson, AZ where he lived to the time of his death. While in Tucson he met and married Phoebe Starr. They celebrated 23 years of marriage in September. In 1995 he opened Carl's Lock and Key and enjoyed a very successful career as an independent locksmith. Carl also enjoyed many activities with numerous family and friends. He loved to watch the Arizona Wildcats and the Denver Broncos. He also looked forward to his yearly trips back to Colorado to visit his son, granddaughter and in recent years his two great- granddaughters. He was an active member of the North Valley Baptist Church. Carl is survived by his wife, Phoebe of Tucson; son, Steve (Linda) Hart; granddaughters, Stephanie (Jesse) Thompson and Amanda Dunn; great-granddaughters, Kaylee and Alexa Thompson; all of Colorado. Stepchildren and grandchildren, Michelle Ludwig, Sarah Slater, Bill and Katie Starr, Tammy, Russell and Emma Watts all of Tucson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Shari. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. followed by Services at 11:00 a.m. at Canyon Del Oro Baptist Church, 9200 N Oracle Rd. A small reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, Carl requested and donations be made to the building of his family church, North Valley Baptist Church, 700 E Palisades Oro Valley, AZ 85737.
