Carl Snyder

Carl Ellis Snyder passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2016 at the age of 70, after an eight year battle with cancer. He was born in 1945 in Haskins, Ohio to parents Johnathan and Bessie Snyder. He and his family moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1983. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Jeanne (Knepper) and two sons, Scot (Robyn) of Lexington, KY and Bryan (Tammy) and grandchildren Haeley and Aedan of Tucson, AZ. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is also survived by brothers Lee, Lynn, Paul, John, and Robert Snyder; sisters Mary McLemore, Alice Strella, and Janet Yates, as well as many nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Earl, Roy, Ray, and Howard Snyder, and sisters Ethel Gearhart and Dorothy Buehrer. Carl served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967 as an Aircraft Mechanic. He retired in 2006 from Production and Warehouse Management to enjoy spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed working in his garden. He was known for his sense of humor and love of life. At Carl’s request there will be no formal ceremony and he will be cremated. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Vietnam Veterans of America.
