Clara Dambach

DAMBACH, Clara "Rusty", born in Zelienople, Penn., on September 6, 1918, Rusty Dambach died February 25, 2012 in Tucson. She is survived by many close friends. A woman ahead of her time, Rusty served as a nurse during World War II. She was part of the first hospital unit that went in to North Africa, and also served in the Battle of the Bulge. Rusty later worked in several VA hospitals back east before moving to Tucson to work at the one here. She later worked at the Elks Long Term Care Unit. Rusty loved exploring Arizona and being outdoors. Her passions included reading, cooking, baseball, animals and walking. She made close friends throughout her life and will be missed deeply. She had lived at Wisdom Gardens since 2000. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Streams in the Desert Lutheran Church, 5360 E. Pima St. Donations to Streams in the Desert or Lord of Grace Lutheran Church would be appreciated. ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, has done an exceptional job following Rusty's wishes.
