MITCHELL, Darby 1945-2017 71, a long-time Tucson resident crossed the threshold to heaven peacefully April 26, 2017 in San Diego, CA surrounded by family. He was born in Garland Alabama, September 21, 1945; he was two years old when his mother moved him to Tucson. His son, Bobby Bell; father Walter March, and stepfather, Edward Wafer preceded him in death. Mitchell touched the lives of many people. He had a wonderful love of life, a gentle soul and a great sense of humor and wit. He enjoyed spending time chatting with his friends and telling stories. He left a very large family to morn his death. He is survived by his loving mother Ann Wafer; sons, Todd Howell and Michael Darby; daughters, Dana and Michelle Darby; brothers, Gregory and Arnold (Beverly) Wafer, Gerald Gause; and sisters, Barbara Harvey, Cheryl Herring, Edelina Jones, Valeria and Glenda Wafer; stepsister, Helen Thomas; ten grandchildren; and grand-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and a host of lifelong friends. Services will be held at the Islamic Center of Tucson, 901 E. 1st Street, Friday May 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Tucson AZ. Burial will take place at the All Faith Memorial Park.
