DONALD LEE WRIGHT 78, passed from this life into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 12, 2016. He is survived by his wife, ElizaBeth, two children, Dorothy Wright of Scottsdale, AZ and Darnelle Wright Coker of Mesa, AZ; and three siblings, Jackie McKee of San Diego, CA, Jerri Claypool and husband, Dick, and William “Bill” Wright, and wife, Cindi of Grant, NE, and two beautiful grandchildren, Paige Elizabeth and Stephen Lee, and too many nieces and nephews to count. A Celebration of his Life will be held at Northwest Community Church, 505 W. Hardy Rd., Oro Valley, AZ on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10AM. Don’s wife of twenty-four years invites any and all to attend Don’s Celebration, as Donald Lee was the finest man she has ever known and loved. Don was born in La Mesa, California on August 2, 1937 and raised in Tucson, Arizona where he graduated from Tucson High School in 1956. Following his graduation, Don entered the U.S. Air Force where he worked for ten years as a radio traffic analyst separating with an Honorable Discharge, Good Conduct Medal, and a U.S. Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. Following his military career, Don glided smoothly into a career with the San Diego Police Department where he retired in 1990, after twenty-four years of service serving in many divisions, including robbery, burglary, fencing, crimes against persons, homicide, vice and lastly in the intelligence division, also receiving three commanding officer citations. Subsequently, Don then served fifteen years with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Investigation Division, in Carson City, Nevada retiring in 2005. In 2012, Don retired from Reno, Nevada to Tucson, Arizona enjoying golf, the Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge #2815, and the residents, comradery and activities at Quail Ridge Estates. In lieu of flowers a Memorial fund has been established in his name. Don desired that in lieu of flowers that his family and friends would give to a memorial fund he wanted established. The memorial fund is Global Training Network, of which his brother, Bill, is invoved, which is a ministry training national village church leaders, especially pastors, in how to study and declare biblical truths to their people and how to pastor congregations effectively.
