Lt. Col. Donald M. Walters, Ret. Don Walters passed away peacefully on June 13, 2012. Don was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 27, 1920. He is preceded in death by his wife, Teddy Walters; son, Dale Walters and son-in-law, Ed Holley. He is survived by his daughter, Carole Holley of Lakeland, FL; his son, Micheal Walters (Joan) of Tucson; grandsons, Bryce Holley (Barbara) and Kyle Holley (Chrissy); great-grandson, Wyatt Holley all of Florida and long-time friend, Patricia Brown of Tucson. Don began his Air Force career in 1941, at the end of World War II, where he was in training to be a navigator/bombardier. He also served his country in Korea, Guam, and Cuban Missile Crisis, and during Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force in 1965, Don moved his family to Tucson. He retired from Hughes Aircraft after ten years as Foreman of test equipment construction. Don loved hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. Friends and family will miss his warmth and sense of humor. In remembrance, please send donations in his name to the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson, AZ.
