Donald Carl Williamson Born in Minneapolis, MN November 6, 1933. Died from cancer on March 11, 2012. Preceded in death by daughter, Dawn; parents, Hilda and William; brother, Albert, two sisters (Wilma Maxwell and June Marchand). Survived by wife, Dorothy (married 55 years); son, Brad Williamson and daughter Diana Vargas; two granddaughters, (Alyssa Williamson and Valentina Vargas); sister, Gloria Barren and niece Becky Kruse. Graduated from North High in 1952 and from U of M in 1960. Was in the US Navy from 1951 - 1956 and served on the USS Hancock. Worked as an Insurance Adjuster for several years. Moved to San Jose, CA in 1968 and owned D.C. Williamson & Co. from 1982 - 1987 when he retired and moved to Tucson, AZ. From 2000 - 2009, he taught Conversational English at Huazong University of Science and Technology (School of Foreign Languages) in Wuhan, China where he was admired for his knowledge, dedication and everlasting friendships with the students and staff. He also tutored for Literacy Volunteers of Tucson, many of the students were from S. Korea and his illness halted his doing what he enjoyed so very much. Memorial Service on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Christ Church United Methodist, 655 N. Craycroft, Tucson, AZ. Special thanks to TMC Hospice.
