Dustin Burke Obituary

Dustin Robert Burke January 10, 1991 - August 20, 2019 *Springfield, Ohio* *Vail, Arizona* Dustin began life in Buckeye Country and, at the age of 3, moved to Arizona along with Mom - Lynn, Dad - Kevin, and his two older brothers, Steven and David. His love of our Sonoran Desert and the Arizona outdoors began at an early age and continued throughout his life. He grew up playing in the freedom of our open Vail desert with his brothers and the neighborhood kids, Dustin attended Acacia Elementary and Old Vail Middle School, and graduated from Cienega High School in May, 2009. Vail All The Way! Dustin’s favorite things included, cheering for his favorite teams –The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals – as well as fishing, hunting, camping, playing video games with his friends and family, cooking and trying new recipes, putting new plants in the ground to watch them grow, and handiwork around his home. His tenderheartedness for animals benefitted the well-lived lives of many beloved pets and also a number of pesky spiders and packrats that he would make sure were taken off and released unharmed. Dustin loved the sense of accomplishment he found in fixing our family vehicles, especially his beloved old tan Volvo. His passion for woodworking and crafting resulted in many gifts given to friends and family as he endeavored to bring happiness into the lives of those he cared for. He would do anything he could to help a friend or a stranger in need. Dustin enjoyed his days at work and the friends he found at Treasure Chest Books. He enjoyed sharing at home lots of the things that he learned from the books and the people he met during a day at work. Dustin strived to help make the world a better place. He routinely donated blood at the American Red Cross. He was always looking for opportunities to volunteer his time to assistance organizations and enjoyed giving hours of his time to local charities such as the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona and the Gospel Rescue Mission. Dustin’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. He loved and admired his brothers, Steven and David, and hoped to build his own family as they have with their beloved wives, Andrea and Crystal. Dustin and Dad adventured on numerous road trips to explore and experience the old Southwest. His nieces, Lexi and Hailey, held that very special place in his heart. The three of them spent many hours riding bikes to explore the desert, playing board games, crafting, and doing school projects. Dustin was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. We love you very, very much Dustin and you are incredibly missed. We are so blessed to have you be a part of each and every one of our lives and you will never, ever be forgotten. You are always in our hearts and thoughts. ‘I could have missed the pain, but I’d have had to miss the dance’ Memorial Service: Friday, September 6, 2019 10:00AM – 12:00 Noon Dustin’s family would love for you to join us as we remember this remarkable, loving young man and to share your memories of him with others he cared for and those whose hearts he touched. In tribute to Dustin, friends who wish may make contributions in his name to one of his favorite causes or the charity of your choice.
