HUGHES, Elaine Elizabeth Hargest, born April 15, 1937 died peacefully in her home in Tucson, Arizona, on May 6, 2017. She was the beloved mother of Hilary H. and Tom M. Hughes and widow of James Patterson Hughes. Elaine was a graduate of Centenary College and enjoyed a successful career in public relations, television and free-lance writing. Elaine was also an accomplished musician and artist, an avid reader and possessed a keen wit and sense of humor which was enjoyed enormously by all who knew her.
