Fay Unangst Obituary

Fay Unangst After a long, healthy and wonderful life Fay completed her earthly journey on October 31, 2015. Fay was born on March 21, 1920 in Atglen, PA to Charles Biechler and Sidney Foultz and was the youngest of seven children, five sisters and a brother, all of whom predeceased her. In her written memories she wrote: "I had a wonderful childhood and I think I had the best parents anyone could have". Fay lived in New Holland, PA for many years after marrying William R. Unangst in 1939, during which time they had three sons, William, Jr., Douglas, and Eric. In 1955, after a public auction to sell most of their belongings and no jobs, the family moved to Tucson to be close to one of Fay's sisters. After her husband died in 1972 Fay continued working at M.M. Sundt Construction, retiring in 1984, after a rewarding and successful career as an executive secretary. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years, becoming active in St. Cyril Church, playing golf, traveling, knitting, visiting with her extended Pennsylvania family, and enjoying time with her many friends. But perhaps what brought her the most happiness was living in her beloved home on Exeter St. which was the family gathering place for 50 years. All holidays, birthdays, swimming parties, and many other events were celebrated there. Of course, she was also very proud of her seven grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren which were always the center of the family gatherings at her home. As she expressed in her final days, Fay lived a rich life. Please drop by on Saturday, November 14, 2015 between 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way to share memories and celebrate Fay's 95 wonderful years. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Cyril of Alexandria Church, 4725 E. Pima St., Tucson, AZ 85712. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
