Frances L. Kautsky age 85, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Cicero, IL, passed away on November 24, 2011. Born August 11, 1926, in Chicago, she is survived by her nephew, Fred (Alice) Kautsky of Westmont and Karen (Ed) Knapp of Glen Ellyn and was the great-aunt of Nora and Ian Knapp. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Kautsky and Blanche Kautsky Jirousek nee Andrlik and her brothers, Robert and Fred Kautsky. Frances was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War Era and was a 20 year veteran of the Naval Reserves attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander in 1968. Frances also enjoyed a long career in education, with teaching and counseling responsibilities for the Blue Island and Elmhurst Illinois Public Schools and also for the Los Angeles California Unified School District. Frances served as a Docent for the Tohono Chul Park in Arizona and was a staunch supporter of preserving wildlife areas. Graveside Services will be Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with full military honors at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago. Donations may be made to the Tohono Chul Park, 7366 N.
