Guy McQuery Obituary

Guy McQuery 3/15/1943 – 2/7/2014 Born in Chicago, IL, 2nd child of Fay and Mac. He served in the IL National Guard. He was a Chicago Police Officer for 28 years, worked in elite units and was first through the door when pursuing offenders, because "If my partner went first and something happened to him, I could never forgive myself." In 2002, Guy and wife Donna built their dream house in Vail, AZ. Since 2008, he has beaten several serious illnesses. Leukemia finally took his life, but he fought to stay with his family. Guy was a good man, a brave policeman, a loyal friend, a loving husband and a caring father. Guy leaves behind Donna, beloved wife of 43 years; son, Brian; sister, Heather (Bob Gavin); sister-in-law, Linda (Dean Smetana) and his nieces and nephews. Thank you to Dr. Brenda Peart and Dr. Steven Ketchel for taking such good care of Guy. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 326-4343. In lieu of flowers donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
