Howard Rasmussen

Howard A. Rasmussen 1/14/1926 - 3/15/2012 survived by wife, Janel (Pelletier); sister, Ralphine Wallman; son, James and partner, Laurie Trost, Bonita Rasmussen; grandchildren, Meagan (Chris) Reiman, Benjamin and partner, Natasha Nelson, Stefan and Taylor; great-grandsons, Damion Rasmussen and Greyson Reiman; along with many other loved family members and friends. Born in Mpls, MN, Howard graduated from West High School and served in the US Navy during WWII. He graduated from the U of M in 1948 and entered the business world as a born salesman. He and Janel started their own business, Howard A. Rasmussen, Inc in 1975 and retired in 2002. The life of any party, Howie was quick with jokes and gags. He was "P.U. Orfendorfer", a clown with the Aqua Jesters, a well-known Mpls troupe, for 40 years. After tiring of shoveling off tennis courts, he and Janel began wintering in Tucson, AZ in 1979 and transplanted permanently to the desert in 1990. Always an avid tennis player, Howard played singles tennis up until the age of 82, when the effects of Parkinson's disease began to take their toll. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him! Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., Church of the Apostles, 12111 N. La Cholla, Oro Valley, AZ 85755. The family expresses gratitude to the caregivers at Villas of La Canada, who loved and cared for Howard. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.
