Ines Oppenheim

Ines Oppenheim (Gildemeister) Ines passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, AZ. She was born in Lima (port of Callao), Peru on April 17, 1936 and was the middle of three children born to Maxa Grobien and Matias Gildemeister. In 1965, she and her first husband, Esteban F. Daranyi, and their children moved from Peru to Santa Fe, NM. In 1969 they moved to Tucson, AZ. In 1994, Ines married Lee Oppenheim and moved to Sierra Vista, AZ where she lived until her death. Ines is survived by her husband, Lee and her seven Daranyi children, Patricia (Richard Switzer), George (Julee Gell), Tony (Barclay), Monica (Gene Wells), Michael (Karen), Eduardo (Ellen Mahoney) and Marie (Tom Seuss) and two stepchildren, Beverly (Jose Teran) and David (Renee). She also has 17 surviving grandchildren, Ali, Tasha, Ava Clare, Ian, Natalie, Caitlin, Carlyle, Pierce, Alexandra, Lucia, Simone, Joshua, Sarah, Nathan, Samuel, Bianca and Vicente and 13 nephews and nieces. She has one surviving brother, Nicolas Langloh (Beatrice) of Basel, Switzerland. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Marita Regge; her brother, Matias Gildemeister, Jr. and her goddaughter, Inez Regge. Ines spoke three languages, visited more than 50 countries, and was passionate about skiing, tennis, yoga, walking, cooking (especially Peruvian food), her family, her friends (in Polson, Montana, Tucson and Sierra Vista), her faith and her adventures in her RV. She was committed to helping others, especially the sick and those less fortunate, and volunteering at hospice. Her life will be celebrated at a Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo, Tucson, AZ 85715 on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make generous contributions in her honor to The Smith Magenis Research Foundation, St. Andrews Parish (Sierra Vista), St. Joseph's Hospital (Polson, MT) or a non-profit hospice of your choice.
