Jack Ayers

AYERS, Jack Eugene SMGT/USAF Ret., November 21, 1929 to October 9, 2011 (PCS) as we set here penning a Celebration of his life, we think of his accomplishments. Great and loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, grand and great-grandfather and friend. Served in the United States Air Force for 28 years. Member of Military Order of Purple Heart past Commander Chapter 442, past Commander AZ dept of Moph, and past Regional Vice Commander. Volunteered at VA Hospital and brought Santa Clause there at Christmas yearly. Served for many years on Tucson Veterans affairs committees. He was every vets friend and advocate. He served in Vietnam and was awarded a purple heart and bronze star in 1967. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of 60 years; brothers, Harry (Dorothy), Bob (Carol); sons, Jack E. Jr. (Louise), Jim, Cliff, Bill (Becky), Jay (Michelle) and Ron. A tribe of loving grand and great-grandchildren; Amigos, Lyle (Norma) Estes and Sonny (Vera) Hunter. We are all so grateful for the time we had with him. He taught us appreciation of life, thoughtfulness, giving, caring, love of the outdoors and most of all, love of country. He always talked of the ones he served with and remembered their times serving together. A Celebration of life will be held at Purple Heart Park, 10050 E. Rita Ranch Rd., 85747 on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel
