James D. Regelbrugge 71, went to Heaven March 16, 2012 while treated at the VA Medical Center in Tucson, AZ. Hero, teacher, and mentor to many of us. Survived by his wife, Joan of 49 wonderful years; daughter, Jennifer of DeKalb, IL; son, James of Tucson; daughter, Angelique of Tucson and son, Anthony of Chicago, IL; sister, Phyllis Cross of Lansing, IL; nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Born September 10, 1940 in Geneva, IL and raised in Chicago, IL. Enlisted in the US Navy in 1962, and was honorably discharged after three years of service. Jim was a hard worker with entrepreneurial traits, owning a few successful businesses during his life. He retired from the SEIU local 1 in Chicago and moved to Tucson, AZ in 1995. Dad, we will never forget your ability to help others that were in need. Your hard shell was easily cracked only to find the most loving caring father and husband anyone could wish for.
