James Smith Obituary

James M.C. Smith 7/24/1936 - 8/21/2011 James was born July 24, 1936 in Detroit, MI. He began his career with Michigan Bell at age 20. This led to him making Tucson his home in 1978 after transferring to the area through his work, which was now AT&T. He loved his job of installing new systems then trouble shooting them when repairs were necessary. After 32 years with the company, he retired to continue his other passions which were traveling to Las Vegas and his cabin in Pine, AZ. He also loved golfing, fishing, and spending time with his families in Tucson and Michigan. He worked with and supported many of the local youth charities. In his passing, he leaves his beloved wife and friend of more than 30 years, Matilda; children, Michael (Diane) Smith, Elizabeth Plotnisky, Deborah (Edward) Motzkin, Anjanette Fuentes and David (Michelle) Yubeta; 16 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Predeceased by his son, James. C. Smith and grandson, James A. Smith. His smile and sense of humor will forever be missed. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his name to: Casa De Los Ninos, 1101 N. 4th Ave., Tucson, AZ 85705 (520) 624-5600. Arrangements entrusted to ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
