Jayne Burkholder Suarez, 88, died April 25, 2014, from complications due to dementia and age. She was born on March 19, 1926, in Williamsport, PA, and the only daughter of Raymond and Helen (Harman) Burkholder. Jayne was an exceptional and special person, a voracious reader who overcame several ailments to live a busy and useful life. A very kind and caring woman, she had a successful 35 year career with the IRS in Washington, DC before retiring and relocating in Tucson. For numerous years she enjoyed life at Cascades of Tucson Retirement Home and of late being expertly cared for at Gracious Haven Healthcare. Jayne was predeceased by an older brother, James. She is survived by her brother, Robert, his wife, Martha, and many nieces and nephews. To honor her wishes, there will be no public services. The Burkholder family wishes to express our gratitude to Soulistic Hospice for the love and care they offered Jayne; and we especially wish to thank Christie and Mike Gagnon, caregiver and owners of Gracious Haven Healthcare, who cared so expertly for Jayne in her final days.
