BARRERA, Jean Ann (Cubberley) passed away in Tucson, Arizona, on May 30, 2017, at the age of 80. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, William Barrera Sr. and Helen Frances Drew Crosby Picco; brother, William Barrera Jr.; and granddaughter, Amy Brown. Jean is lovingly remembered by her children and their families, Leslie Brown, Patricia Pranger and husband Dr. Timothy Pranger, Sean Cubberley and wife Colleen, Keith Cubberley, and Kira Honnoll and husband Kevin along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jean was born in Newark, New Jersey, November 25, 1936, and grew up in Staten Island, New York. She graduated from Tottenville High School and Michigan State University. After marrying Kenneth B. Cubberley they moved to Tucson, where she worked at the University of Arizona and then as a legal transcriber. She retired from the university in 2004. Jean loved animals and her greatest joys came from her family, friends, and learning. She fiercely believed in the importance of education, and worked diligently to provide that for her children. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Southwest German Shepherd Rescue, or The Salt River Wild Horse Management Group. A Celebration of her Life will be held with close friends and family on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.
