John Roger Kulseth Died peacefully at home on July 16, 2011. He was born January 23, 1932 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Sophus and Beatrice Kulseth. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1955 before being transferred to Davis-Monthan AFB. He married his first wife Anne Meredith in 1957, with whom he had two children, John Jr. and Reagen. He graduated from the University of Arizona School of Architecture in 1963. He briefly worked for Cain, Nelson and Ware before forming Architecture One with John Riggs and Philip Dinsmore, then formed John R. Kulseth Associates, Ltd. with Michael Harris and David Hazeltine in 1976, joined later by Alan Scott, where he worked until he retired in 2007. He married his second wife, Jenifer Jacob, in 1996. He committed his professional life to designing educational and civic buildings in the Tucson area, among them the Pima Community College Performing Arts Center, the Northwest Campus of Pima Community College, Catalina Foothills High School, Esperero Canyon Middle School, and several city and regional firehouses. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Anne. He is survived by his second wife, Jenifer; his sister, Francis Bene (Jay) and their children; his son, John Jr. (Denice) and his grandchildren, Peter and Katy; his daughter, Reagen; and Jenifer's children, John R. Louer, Katharine L. Kimbrough (Jim), Thomas B. Louer (Molly), and their children. He was well loved and will be missed by all. A private Celebration of Life will be held in the fall.
