Joseph Justin Wittmann, Jr. 9/24/1919 - 8/4/2012 Joseph was born in Pass Christian, Mississippi on September 24, 1919 to Joseph J. and Ann Wittmann. While he was a lieutenant in the Army Air Corp stationed at Davis Monthan during World War II, he was an instructor and pilot for the B-24. During this time he met and married Dorothy Williams. They were married for sixty five years before her passing in 2009. He was a long time employee and a retiree from Hughes Aircraft. Being an avid fisherman, he invented the Z-Ray fishing lure and owned and operated Wittmann Lures until it was sold in 1990. He is survived by his children, Joe Wittmann III (Anita) of Tucson; daughter, Lynn Lawrence (Geoffrey) of Portland Oregon; grandchildren, Joe Wittmann IV (MaryAnn) of Tucson, Megan Wittmann of Oslo, Norway and Amanda Adams (Gary) of Portland Oregon; three great-grandchildren, Mary Kate Wittmann, Joseph "Quinn" Wittmann V and Connor Adams and brothers, Robert of Jackson, Mississippi and William of Gulfport, Mississippi. He will be missed and loved forever by his family and friends. Services will be Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Road, Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Tucson Humane Society. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.
