Keath Jenkins Tucson, Arizona Obituary

Keath Jenkins

Keath Marie Rhoden Jenkins age 66, died on April 17, 2012. After a brave battle against cancer, Keath died peacefully in her home. Born to Marilyn and Elmer C. Rhoden, Jr. on March 27, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, Keath lived a life of giving. Ever the loyal and faithful friend and mother, she discriminated against none and wished for everyone to live in harmony. She was an avid lover of animals and showed no discrimination in this regard either. She was known to have once stopped her car to scurry a poisonous Gila Monster out of the road. Living her devotion to animals, Keath gave countless hours to the Tucson Humane Society and as a docent to the Kansas City Zoo. Keath was a valued member of Angel Charity for Children, as well, and was very passionate about this cause and its Angel Ball, devoting many hours to its planning each year. Keath's passion for tennis kept her very busy on the courts. When she wasn't playing, she was a devoted fan of the sport, either attending events or glued to the TV when a big game was on. She spent many of her last days enjoying tennis competitions. Her ability to dance the night away, find a decent bottle of wine, have fun, her huge heart, and her non judgmental ways made her beloved by many. Above all else, Keath will be missed for her kind and generous spirit. A special thank you to Betsy Mackey, who gave several months of her life to help Keath ease out of this world comfortably, and huge thank you's to the many friends who helped Betsy and Keath by bringing food, laughs, and hugs daily. To Barbara Gilbert, with TMC Hospice, for her guidance and loving care. To Byron Poulos, for making Keath comfortable in the end and giving Betsy some much needed rest. Keath is survived by her daughter, Ashley; son in-law, Pete; grandsons, Owen and August; uncountable dear friends, several favorite cousins, one aunt and her beloved dog, Lulu. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your favorite local animal shelter or Angel Charity for Children in Tucson. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
