Lawrence Edward Duffy, 84, died Tuesday, Dec. 5 surrounded by his loving family. His wife Mary, preceded him in death, in March 2012. He is survived by his fiancée Toni Blanco; children, Louise (Rob) Miles, Lawrence Jr. (Jeanette), and Tina (Robert) Ciambor. In addition to his children, he is survived by grandchildren, Ashley, Adam and Stephanie Miles and great-granddaughter, Jordyn; grandchildren, Carmen and Charlie Duffy and Angel, Alex and Heather Ciambor; along with Bob and Penny Ciambor and many friends, especially Bob Soto Sr., wife Laura and their son Bob Jr. Lawrence was a TUSD school bus driver for 22 years and before that was a Tucson Fire Department engineer for 23 years. Among Duffy's travels were the World's Fair in Seattle, Wash., in 1962; Mexico City in 1963; trips to Alaska in 1981 and 1986; trips to Hawaii in 1975 and 1986; Australia in 1988 and China in 1992. Duffy also enjoyed many trips to Disneyland and San Diego with his family. His ability to talk with people and befriend them will be missed. The family would like to thank friends and relatives for their love and support during this difficult time and the hospice staff, as well as the ICU and E.R. staffs at St. Mary’s Hospital. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A service to celebrate his life will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 16 at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 1800 S. Kolb Road. ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel handled arrangements.
