Lorayne Stasney

Lorayne Chapman Stasney Today we say "Good-Bye" and God says "Hello" to our beloved mother who died suddenly on December 30, 2011 at 86 years young. She was born August 23, 1925 to John and Gertrude Wendel on a farm in Cresco, Iowa. She had four siblings, Arletta O'Hearn, Elmarie Wendel, Alan and David Wendel. In the mid 40's they moved west to Eugene, Oregon. At 18 years old she saw the ocean for the first time. At 21 she married John Lewis Chapman in 1946. They raised five children in Eugene, Mary (Daley), Michael, Steve, Thomas and Dan Chapman. She enjoyed nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. After dad's death in 1975 she married Dr. George Stasney in 1981. She loved his children, Jill (LaRue) Peter and Jeff, as if they were her own. George and Lorayne began wintering in Tucson in 1989. She loved to paint, play music and dance. She enjoyed life with her family and dear friends until the day of her death. We cannot put into words what she meant to us. We will miss her joyful spirit. Please join us for her Funeral Mass at Santa Catalina Church, 14380 N. Oracle on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lorayne's honor.
