Mary Chilcote Obituary

Mary Carolyn Chilcote passed away at her home in Tucson, Arizona on August 12, 2015. She was born on March 10, 1939 in Denver, Colorado to Albert William Cooper and Temple Gladys Brown Cooper. After growing up in Denver, she attended the University of Arizona where she met Herb, her loving husband of 54 years. She went on to have many successful careers as an elementary school teacher, owner of a floral shop, and as a registered nurse. Carolyn had a passion for creating art and was a talented painter and ceramic artist. Her love of animals and nature led her to volunteer at TROT, the Arizona Humane Society, and the Saguaro National Monument. It was Carolyn's devotion to her family that defined her life. Her humor, kind spirit and caring nature touched all those who knew her. She is survived by her husband Herbert Spring Chilcote; sister, Sally Murray; daughter, Amy (Jim) Kries; children, John and Eli; son, Brad (Kerry) Chilcote; children, Dani and Trey; and daughter, Mia (Mark) Gutweiler; children, Chase and Ty. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell Ave. on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting a donation to the Tucson Food Bank. Arrangement by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.
