Mary Green
GREEN, Mary Ruth, known to nearly everyone as GG (Grandma Green) died peacefully on March 21, 2016 in Tucson at the age of 98. She was born on July 5, 1917 in Hazelton, PA and attended the Drexel Institute of Technology. She married Douglas E. Green, who predeceased her in 1966, in 1938. GG always had a warm smile and kind word for everyone and she will be sorely missed. GG is survived by her son, Charles Green, M.D. of Kalispell, MT; daughter, Carol Green of Tucson; grandchildren, David Edwards and his wife Adele of Tucson, Alice Otten and her husband Steve of Ventura, CA, Jennifer Green and her husband Maurice of Michigan, Douglas Green, M.D. and his wife Hilla of Temecula, CA; great-grandchildren, Kyle Merritt and his wife Ryan of Ventura, CA, David Edwards of Portland Oregon, Steven Edwards of Tucson, Deirdre Edwards of Tempe, Christianna Edwards of Tempe, and Logan Otten of Ventura, CA. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 in the Fellowship Hall of Desert Skies United Methodist Church, located at 3255 N. Houghton Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515.
