Michael J. Deir 80, passed away October 23, 2012. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ellen; daughter, Kathy Zillman and son, John Deir, both of Tucson; grandson, Aaron Deir (Stephanie) of CO; granddaughter, Jenna Zillman of CA; sisters, Grace Feckner (Richard) of Tucson, Nancy Foster of TX; brother-in-law, Gordon Overstreet of Tucson and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son, Steven Michael and granddaughter, Courtney Page Zillman. He was employed by Long Realty (1999-2007), Realty Executives of Tucson (1986-1999), and Tucson Realty and Trust (1977-1986). Mike owned and operated Deir's Valley Funeral Home from 1963- 1976. He also served in the U. S. Navy. Mike was very involved in the Tucson community. He most recently served on the Board of Directors of the Parkinson's Association, and was a Tee Up For Tots planning committee member. Mike was also a member of the Tucson Association of Realtors, and was named Realtor of the year in 1978. He served on the Board of Directors, the Reverse Mortgage Committee, numerous task forces and various other committees. Mike was a Life Member and Past President of the Tucson Conquistadores, member of Tucson Elks Lodge #385, where he served as Exalted Ruler, District Deputy, President of the Arizona Elks Association, and was an Honorary Life Member. He also previously served on the State Board of Funeral Directors and was a former member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement. A Memorial Service will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church, (Tucson Blvd. at Ft. Lowell), on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA), P.O.
