Michael James Pankratz age 25, born February 14, 1985; died September 23, 2011. A Memorial Service for close friends and family was held October 2, 2011. He is survived by his sister, Mary; and parents, Tim and Martha of Tucson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Waldo C. Pankratz (Josephine Close) and James R. Shipley Jr. (Elizabeth Gorham). Michael lived a love-filled life and met his adversities with courage. His laugh, smiles, hugs, and spirit will be missed. He faced an unknown progressive disease that was similar to Batten disease, and support to the family was provided by the Batten Disease Foundation (bdsra.com).
