Phyllis Moroney

Phyllis Moroney age 89, passed Thursday, March 26, 2015. This second generation Italian-American was born Philomena Marie Curitore on February 8, 1926, in Staten Island. In New York, Phyllis graduated from Packard Business College and had a successful career as a secretary with the NY Board of Ed. and also as the secretary to the president at Kraft Foods Co. Later, she attained her stockbrokers and real estate brokers licenses. In 1991, Phyllis retired and moved to Tucson, where she joined her family and became involved in the community as a docent at the Tucson Museum of Art and a volunteer at TMC. Phyllis was a social butterfly with great pizzazz; she made friends, touched hearts and brought cookies wherever she went. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Dr. Jack Dunn; son, James Moroney; daughter-in-law, Brenda; brother; William Curitore, five grandchildren and one great grandson. A Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish ,5150 N. Valley View Rd. Tucson, AZ Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.
