Roberto Gaona

Roberto Valenzuela Gaona was born in Oracle, AZ on January 21, 1939 to the late Victoria V. and Mathias Gaona. Roberto was a very well known PGA professional golfer with a heart of gold. He worked as a golf coach at Pima Community College for 16 years as well as at his long time love, El Rio Golf Course. Although he is no longer with us, his legacy continues. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Eva Gaona, sons Robert Jr. (Patricia), Michael (Kathy), Richard and John Paul (Carey); grandchildren, Clarissa, Rosana and John Jr. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Jimmy Gaona and sister Vicky Gaona-Duran. Services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 beginning with a Visitation from 9:00 am to 10:0 am with a rosary recitation at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am in St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Committal will take place in Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to BBVA Compass 6750662836.
