Steven Lyle Hunt, Lt. Col., USAF, retired 1/12/1951 - 10/27/2011 Beloved husband of Debbie Hunt, father of Jason (Tanya) Hunt, Heath Hunt, stepfather of Steven (Kira) Truett, "Pappy" of Rylie and Dawson. Also survived by his little sister, Debby (Hunt) Gentry and three other siblings. Preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Coleman Hunt. Raised in Lubbock, Texas and retired in Tucson, Arizona. Steve lived with intensity and drive: He fought hard for what he believed in and shared tenderly with only a lucky few. The highlight of his USAF career was hurling through the sky at mach 2.5 in the F-4G "Phantom" with the Wild Weasel mission while serving as a EWO/WSO at Clark AB. He enjoyed a second career at AOL, rising quickly to a position of influence during AOL's glory days. He cherished his role as father and grandfather. Steve had a big heart and shared a special bond with many dogs throughout his life. He left an indelible mark and influenced many lives. A Memorial Celebration will be held in the shadow of the F-4 on static display at Davis-Monthan AFB, at Heritage Park, Monday, October 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Friends who wish to attend must arrange base entry clearance in advance by calling (520) 370-4737.
