Suzuko Thompson

Suzuko (Suzie) Takasaki Thompson passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 10, 2011 after a serious illness. Her late husband, Terrence L. Thompson, was in the U.S. Navy. Mrs. Thompson will be buried beside her husband at Ft. Huachuca. The couple was married on November 14, 1961 at the American Consulate General in Yokohama, Japan, birthplace of Mrs. Thompson. After returning to the U.S. they renewed their wedding vows at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Tucson. She is survived by two sons, Darrell W. Thompson of Tucson, Daniel L. Thompson (Sandra) of Silverdale, WA, and two grandchildren, Phoebe Thompson and Daniel Dressler. Her older brother, Yukio Takasaki (Misako) and son, Koji Takasaki and brother-in-law, Toshimitsu Hamazaki, all of whom reside in Japan. Suzie enjoyed entertaining friends and family, preparing Japanese food, and was a chef in Sierra Vista for Bunbuku Japanese Restaurant. She and her husband were great fans of Arizona Wildcat football. After her husband's death she was a constant and very devoted friend and caretaker of her husband's mother, Mrs. Grace Mack of Tucson. The Thompsons made their home over the years in Douglas, Sierra Vista and Tucson. A Memorial Service will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Council House Apartments, 2323 E. Tenth Street in Tucson on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. All friends and acquaintances are invited to attend. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.
