STOKES, Talitha Jane 4/19/1928 - 8/11/2016 Our dear mother, grandmother, and friend, Tally died peacefully at home. An exceptional person of kindness, generosity, and selflessness, she will be missed by all. Tally found beauty in art and nature. She was the first outreach librarian to the Tohono O'Odham Nation. Tally was active in the Old Ft. Lowell Neighborhood Association. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Marvin Stokes; son, Glen Gilkerson; stepson, Dan Stokes. Survived by daughter, Ann Gilkerson; son, Alex Gilkerson (Sharon); stepdaughters, Christine Stokes (Steve) and Kathleen (Joe); grandchildren, Leandra, Nick, Alyssa and Erica; as well as her dog, Olive. Contributions welcomed to the Friends of the Pima County Library. Join us for a Celebration of Tally's life at the San Pedro Chapel, 5230 E. Ft. Lowell Rd., Tucson on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
