Theresa 'Terry' Mary Thorne joined our Father in Heaven on December 13, 2012 at the age of 92 in Tucson, AZ. Terry was born on February 27, 1920 in Austin, PA. Terry went to nursing school and graduated in 1941. She retired from the V.A. hospital as an O.R. nurse in Tucson and continued to meet with fellow retired V.A. nurses for breakfast on a monthly basis. Terry had a passion for giving and spent over 20 years volunteering with the Ladies Auxiliary at St. Joseph's Hospital and put in over 5,100 hours of service. She lived out her last years at Fellowship Square continuing to be independent and established even more friendships. Terry was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Zumbaris; brothers, Larry and George Zumbaris and son, Kevin Burk. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jim and Mary Lemke; granddaughters, Amy Roberts, Rebecca Valencia and Katie Terrell; grandson, Kevin Burk and 11 great-grandchildren. With kindness, compassion and quick wit till the very end, there will truly never be another like her. She will be forever known as an amazing and adored family member, friend and servant of God. Services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cyril's Church located at 4725 E. Pima Street, Tucson, Arizona 85712. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
