Virginia Lee Moyer Obituary

MOYER, Virginia Lee Criswell, born March 25, 1924 in Montrose, CO. She made her transition February 6, 2013 to that yet larger room. She is survived by sister-in-law, Lou Criswell (Walter); nieces, Carol Turner (Rev. Gary Turner) and Ann Criswell; nephews, John Criswell and Frank Lee Smith (Pat) and Patti Schepis. Also, many grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Sam W. and Hattie Criswell; sisters, Dorthea, Renee and brother, Walter. Virginia moved to Tucson from Colorado and worked as an executive secretary for Anamax. She organized a chapter of Women in Mining here in Tucson. Following her retirement from Anamax, she took art classes in water color painting and was a member of the Southwest Watercolor Guild. A 20 year volunteer naturalist for the U.S. Forest Service at Sabino Canyon. While active with the American Society of Dowsers, Tucson Chapter, won two ASD National awards for her newsletters. Her interests were many and varied from Silva Mind Development to Nine Gates Mystery School. Her bucket list outlined many things she did do and only a few that were not completed. Memorial Service to be held at St. Francis in the Foothills UMC, Dr. David Wilkinson officiating, 4625 E. River Road on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider a contribution made to St. Francis in the Foothills, United Methodist Church.
