William Towner Obituary

William Harry Towner He was born February 9, 1919, and passed December 30, 2011. He was the son of Harry M. Towner and Blanche Moharter and was born in Elmira, New York. Surviving him are his son, Harry (Patricia) Towner and their five children and David G. Towner and his four children, along with 19 great- grandchildren. Maybelle Towner, his wife of 69 years, passed in 2008. Bill and Maybelle, square dancers extraordinaire, spent 30 happy years in the Tucson area dancing up a storm. Bill served during WWII in the Navy. He retired after 35 years at IBM as a Tool and Die Maker and Senior Buyer. His skill at Penny-Slots was legendary. Bill also frequently served as colour guard in Far Horizon East. He and Maybelle enjoyed china painting together, but Bill's primary interest was family. There will be a Visitation at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 North Dodge Blvd. in Tucson, AZ on Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service to begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow a short graveside ceremony at All Faiths Cemetery, 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes, Tucson, AZ.
