Billy Eugene Gourley, 73, of Tucson, Az. passed away on August 5, 2017. Billy was born in Borger, Texas on July 3, 1944. Texas always held a special place in his heart. Billy will be fondly remembered with a heart more precious than gold, as a loving father, faithful friend, biscuit and cobbler maker, rattlesnake wrangler, mule rider, creative spirit, dancing fanatic, lover of all things western, fixer of all things broken, generous soul and a true gentleman. He is survived by his loving companion and princess of 9 yrs., Ruthie Romero, of Tucson, Az.; son, Troy Gourley; daughters, Kim Snyder (husband Danny), Brenda Machado; loyal brother, Bobby Gourley; precious mother, Pauline Hays; six grandchildren; many family- extended family members and friends. He was Owner/Operator of Quail Canyon Golf Course and Wild Bill’s Steakhouse and Saloon. In 2014, He was unable to work due to his illness. He continued to live life to the fullest to his ability and traveled with family. Quail Canyon was the ranch he always desired. Billy gave many hours of volunteer time to the Tucson Rodeo Parade Committee. He also served as the Secretary and Chairman for a term. He enjoyed attending the Rodeo and being a part of the committee. He cherished those times and was respected by many. A Memorial service will be held on October 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Christian Fellowship on 3850 N. Commerce Dr. #113, Tucson, Arizona (520) 292-9661. Interment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with a Veterans Ceremony at a later date to be determined. Contact Kim Snyder or Troy Gourley.
